Navigating the Job Exploration Journey: Stay Open, Stay Positive!

When you are in the thick of a job search and exploration, it can be very difficult to embrace the opportunities that are right in front of you. All too often as humans, we are guilty of having our blinders are and hyper-focusing on the end goal so much, that we don't take time to realize everything is a learning moment and a process!

Anytime you're spending time to search for a new job, it is a personal growth experience for you. It is not a transaction.

You are searching for a job that you feel will be a good fit for you, but perhaps if you're so focused on wanting something so specific or in such a rush, you will miss out on amazing opportunities that would be an amazing fit for you and find yourself back at square one.

This can make you feel very negative about the job search process, it can make you feel overwhelmed, simply stressed out, or get a bit of imposter syndrome the longer it takes to find something!

My role is not only to provide you with relevant information that will help you with your goals, but also to teach you how to navigate this bumpy road and keep a positive attitude!

When you are in that place of no return and you're feeling down on yourself, you're energetically blocking yourself from opportunities. If you feel that you're not good enough, or that nothing will ever come up that will be what you're looking for, you are blocking yourself from opportunities! My job as your career counselor is to keep you motivated, hold you accountable and be your cheerleader on the sidelines to keep you going through the tough parts!

Have you ever heard that the best ideas come while you're driving or in the shower? It's for a reason! Your brain has stopped engaging in what's stressing you out and has a chance to breathe and think clearly!

As humans, we often function from a place of fear. When we are in that mode, we often feel our brain spinning and can't grasp a clear or reasonable thought. When you are going through a career transition, you need to give yourself time and space to have those clear thoughts. When you give yourself that space, your intuition is able to kick in and that's when the magic starts to happen and you're able to move forward.

When working with clients, I tell them that they may have some of the best ideas between our sessions. We discuss ways to quiet the mind and the benefits of doing that such as increased awareness, focus and clarity, as well as boosting creativity and problem-solving skills and better self-awareness and resilience.

You need to be open to receiving an opportunity that you deserve!
